System of a Down was popular during the 90th. The band specialized in heavy earsplitting music, and it comprised such musicians as vocalist Serj Tankian, guitarist Daron Malakian, bassist Shavo Odadjian, and drummer John Dolmayan who formed the band in southern California in the middle of the 90th. The band became popular both home and abroad pretty soon.
System of a Down issued their debut self-tytled album in the summer of 1998. The same year they made the Slayer and Ozzfest tours. In 2001 the band released Toxicity which was even more successful than the previous work. On the whole the band was rather successful, and some of their works were considered to be gold or platinum.
