Sky

The Sky was founded by John Williams (classical music writer) in the late 70’s. The lineup consisted of Williams (guitar), Tristan Fry (drums), Francis Monkman (keyboards), and Kevin Peek (guitar). The group signed its first music contract with the Ariola label.

Soon after its debut on the scene, Sky became popular both sides of Atlantic. The double-CD entitled Sky2 was released in the early 80’s and had a great success. At the same time Francis Monkman was replaced by Steve Gray. After that Sky issued Sky 3, Sky 4: Forthcoming and Sky Five Live, The Great Balloon Race, and Mozart.
