Space

Space was formed in England in 1993 by such musicians as Tommy Scott (vocals/bass), Jamie Murphy (guitar), and Andy Kowalski (drums). The band specialized in "alternative" music, and it didn’t take them much time to become popular. The band signed a contract with Gut Records to get their career started.

Space is known for such hits as Me and You Versus the World (1996), "Female of the Spiders" (1997), "Female of the Species", and Love You More Than Football (2001). Most of their songs could be found on the top of the charts and on MTV. And when such musicians as keyboardist Franny Griffith and vocalist Dave "Yorkie" Palmer joined the band it became even more successful.

Space made a tour over the United States of America in 1997. But in fact the band didn’t live up to the critics’ high expectations as there was nothing so special about it. That year wasn’t very successful for the band: some of them had some family problems, one of the members, Kowalski, disbanded. But in 1998 the band released Tin Planet which became number three in charts.
