Sepultura

Sepultura is one of the most popular Brazilian metal groups in the music history. The band appeared in Belo Horizonte in the middle 80’s. The lineup included singer and guitarist Max Cavalera, guitarist Jairo T., bassist Paulo Jr., and drummer Igor Cavalera. The bandmembers were heavy influenced by such groups as Metallica and Iron Maiden.

Sepultura signed the music contract with Cogumelo Records and recorded several songs, which were included to the double-group album with songs of the Brazilians Overdose band. In 1986 Sepultura released its debut full-length album entitled Morbid Visions, which included the "Troops of Doom" hit single.

In the middle 1986 Sepultura moved to São Paulo, and the same year Jairo T. left the band and was replaced by Andreas Kisser. The following year the group issued its next full-length, Schizophrenia, which was released on the Cogumelo label. The record became rather popular in America and Europe and earned the music contract with Roadrunner Records for the band.

In 1989 Sepultura released its third album Beneath the Remains, the record was recorded in Rio de Janeiro and was produced by Scott Burns. The album had a huge success all over the world and made Sepultura one of the most popular metal bands. The same year the band went on big concert tour in Europe and Brazil.

In the early 90’s Sepultura moved to Phoenix, AZ and recorded the Arise album on Tampa's Morrisound Studios. The "Dead Embryonic Cells" song sent the record to the top of charts. In 1993 the group signed with Epic Records, whish released its next full-length album entitled Chaos A.D. The singles from the LP: "Refuse/Resist" and "Territory" became world hits.

In 1996 Sepultura issued the Roots album, which became one of the most successful band’s records and made the groupmembers superstars. Two years later the Against appeared. In 2001 Sepultura issued the full-length Nation, the Revolusongs EP followed in 2003, and the same year the Roorback LP was produced. In 2005 Sepultura released Live in Sao Paulo.
