Son House

Son House’s real name is Eddie James House, Jr. He was born on March 21, 1902, in Riverton, MS. As a teenager he used to sing in a chorus in various Baptist churches. Later he became popular as a blues singer, and his achievements in music were highly valued. In fact he signed a contract with one of the most famous labels- the Paramount label.

Son House’s hits such as," "Preachin' the Blues," and "Dry Spell Blues,""My Black Mama," "Walkin' Blues" are known all over the world and still popular. In his time he was one of the most selling singers, and even now, throughout many years his music is still much valued and is an example to follow.
