Stanley Clarke

Stanley Clarke is one of the most popular bass players in the history of music. He began his music career playing in different groups in high school. In the beginning of the 70’s Clarke worked with Pharoah Sanders in New York.

During the 70’s Stanley Clarke worked with such popular artists like Dexter Gordon, Horace Silver, Art Blakey;Stan Getz, Gil Evans, etc. Clarke became popular teaming with Chick Corea in the Return to Forever group.

Stanley Clarke took part in recording the Return to Forever’s full-length album entitled School Days, which was recorded and released in the middle 70’s. Soon after that Clarke left the group to begin his solo career.

In 1988 Stanley Clarke issued his first full-length album called This Bass Could Only Talk. The record became very popular and commercially successful. Seven years later Clarke recorded The Rite of Strings LP with help of Al DiMeola and Jean Luc Ponty.
