Social Distortion

The Los Angeles-based punk-band Social Distortion was founded in 1978 by vocalist and guitar player Mike Ness, guitarist Rikk Agnew, his brother bassist Frank Agnew, and drummer Casey Royer. In the early 80’s Frank and Rikk Agnew left the band and were replaced by bassists Dennis Danell and Brent Liles. Besides, Casey Royer was replaced by new drummer Derek O'Brien.

Social Distortion released its first full-length album called Mommy's Little Monster in 1983. O'Brien and Liles left the band before recording the group’s second album. The Prison Bound LP was produced by Ness, bassist John Maurer, and drummer Chris Reece in the late 80’s. The 1990’s eponymous album was rather successful.

In the 90’s Social Distortion released such albums as Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell, 1996’s White Light, White Heat, White Trash, and 1998’s Live at the Roxy. In the early 2000’s Ness produced a couple of solo albums. In 2004 Social Distortion returned with the full-length Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll.
