Born in 1966 in Ireland Sinéad O'Connor began her music career at the age of 15. In 1985 she signed her first professional contract with Ensign Records, which released O'Connor’s debut full-length album entitled two years later. Besides, in the middle 80’s she issued a couple of hit singles: "Troy" and "Mandinka."
In 1990 Sinéad O'Connor produced the full-length album called I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got. The song "Nothing Compares 2 U" sent the record to the top of British charts. Two years later O'Connor issued the Am I Not Your Girl? LP. In the early 90’s she took part at such performances as Saturday Night Live and the concert at New York's Madison Square Garden.
In 1994 Sinéad O'Connor released her next album named Universal Mother. The album hadn’t success and failed to charts. The Gospel Oak EP appeared in 1997, and full-length Faith and Courage was issued in 2000. Besides, in the 2000’s O'Connor produced such albums as double-CD She Who Dwells... (2003), Collaborations (2005), and Throw Down Your Arms (2006).
