Chemical Brothers

The Chemical Brothers group was founded by the popular British DJs Ed Simons and Tom Rowlands in 1995. The pair began to work together in the early 90’s in different night dance clubs. They performed under the title Dust Brothers. They issued a couple of singles and the 14th Century Sky EP and in 1995 changed the project’s title to the Chemical Brothers.

The Chemical Brothers’ first full-length album called Exit Planet Dust was released in the middle 90’s. The record was followed by the "Setting Sun" single, which was recorded with help of Oasis vocalist Noel Gallagher and had a great success in England. After that the duet issued such LPs as Dig Your Own Hole, Brothers Gonna Work It Out, Surrender, Come With Us, Push the Button.

Tarkan

The popular Turkish singer and music writer Tarkan became popular all over Europe at the end of the 90’s. In his music he combines Asian and modern dance motives. In 1999 he recorded and released the "Simarik" hit single, which had a great success and flew up to the top of European dance charts.

In 1999 Tarkan issued his full-length eponymous album, which became very popular in Europe and Asia. In the middle 2000’s the record was re-released in the United States by Universal Music Latino. The record became rather successful in America and attracted much attention of fans of dance music.

System of a Down

System of a Down was popular during the 90th. The band specialized in heavy earsplitting music, and it comprised such musicians as vocalist Serj Tankian, guitarist Daron Malakian, bassist Shavo Odadjian, and drummer John Dolmayan who formed the band in southern California in the middle of the 90th. The band became popular both home and abroad pretty soon.

System of a Down issued their debut self-tytled album in the summer of 1998. The same year they made the Slayer and Ozzfest tours. In 2001 the band released Toxicity which was even more successful than the previous work. On the whole the band was rather successful, and some of their works were considered to be gold or platinum.

Sting

Sting became popular performing in the famous group called Police. In 1984 the band split and the artist began his solo career. His first full-length solo album entitled The Dream of the Blue Turtles was issued in 1985. It was recorded with help of such artists as Kenny Kirkland, Omar Hakim, and Branford Marsalis. The album had a great success both in the U.S and England.

In 1987 Sting released his second full-length LP, Nothing Like the Sun. In the 90’s he produced The Soul Cages (1991), Ten Summoner's Tales (1993), Fields of Gold: The Best of Sting (1994), Mercury Falling (1996), Brand New Day (1999). The full-length entitled Sacred Love followed in 2003.

Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston’s full name is Whitney Elizabeth Houston. She was born in Newark, NJ, on August 9, 1963 into a family of musicians: her mother, Cissy Houston, for example, was gospel/R&B singer, and her cousin, Dionne Warwick was also a musician. Whitney herself showed an early interest in music, her talent was obvious, no one could deny that.

As an eleven-year old girl Whitney Houston sang in the junior gospel choir at her Baptist church. When in her teens she performed with her mother during her concerts. Her mother’s album called Think It Over (1978) was also issued with the help of Whitney. Whitney herself issued a lot of records which are popular and adored all over the world and in all times.

Whitney Houston is popular for such releases as One Down (1982, album, issued together with Bill Laswell), "Hold Me," Whitney Houston (1985), "Someone for Me," "You Give Good Love," "The Greatest Love of All" "Saving All My Love for You," "How Will I Know," "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)", "Didn't We Almost Have It All," "So Emotional".

Whitney Houston also issued "Where Do Broken Hearts Go", "Love Will Save the Day", "The Star Spangled Banner", "All the Man That I Need", I'm Your Baby Tonight, "I Will Always Love You", "Candle in the Wind 1997", "One Sweet Day," "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)," My Love Is Your Love, "When You Believe", and many other popular releases.

Whitesnake

Whitesnake is known to be formed by ex-member of such popular band as Deep Purple David Coverdale in 1977. The band specialized in heavy earsplitting music, namely in hard rock and heavy metal. The band became popular allover the world, especially in such countries as Japan, and those of Europe. The band issued a great amount of real hits, which topped the charts.

Whitesnake’s Slide It In became rather popular and went platinum. After that the band issued their self-titled effort which was also a success. The band is also popular for such releases as "Here I Go Again", "Is This Love" (ballad), 1989's Slip of the Tongue, and many other popular releases. Besides the band made a lot of concert tours becoming more and more successful.

Whitesnake’s stuff was not permanent at all for every now and then musicians left the band to be replaced by others. Some of them preferred to make solo careers of their own; the others joined some other bands. The only remaining member of them was guitarist Adrian Vandenberg who stayed together with the band up to the end. But that did not reflected upon the bands success.

Whitesnake did not work regularly: for example, one of its members, vocalist David Coverdale, did not take part in the band’s activities for his daughter was ill, so he took some time to take care of her. But in 1984 the musician returned to the band. After that the band was even more successful for now they sounded loudly, as if they were full of energy and power.

Whitesnake’s leader, vocalist David Coverdale also tried to make a solo career of his own. After three successful albums of the band in the end of the 90th he issued his debut album which was called Coverdale's Into the Light and was issued in September of 2000. The album was considered to be a success, and featured such musician as guitarist Earl Slick.

Usher

Usher is popular for such successful releases as "Think of You" (was his debut single, became a real hit, a chart-topper, was considered to be gold), a national holiday jingle for Coca-Cola (1995), "You Will Know" (single), "Let's Straighten It Out" (remake of Latimore's single), My Way (album, 1997), "You Make Me Wanna" (single), "Nice & Slow", "My Way", The Faculty.

Usher also issued Light It Up (1999), Live (the same year), All About U (album, 2000), 8701 (2001) (his third album), "Yeah!" (2004, single, became a real hit and a chart-topper), and so on. Usher received Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B Album in 2004. "Yeah!" was also nominated and won as the best rapped/sung composition of the year.
